Hum from boiler

Hi hope someone can suggest a fix for my noisy boiler. I’ve just put in a new gas boiler, it’s working perfectly except it has been mounted on a timber stud wall between utility and living room, when it’s running it produces a little hum, not excessively noisy but it’s vibrating the whole wall and seems to echo into the living room where it seems to be much louder.

I’m looking at getting some type of acustic rubber mat to go between the boiler and the wall to reduce the vibration. Obviously it will have to be fire rated.

Has anybody done anything like this before??

Have you discussed the problem with the person who put the boiler in?

Yes, they acknowledge that it is very loud and are happy to take down the boiler and put something behind it. But they didn't have anything to recommend to use.

Then it's up to them to rectify it. It may be a fault in the boiler itself, they should be able to diagnose this, and if needs be, contact the manufacturer for a warranty call out.
Was it an RGI that installed it?

To be fair to the plumber it was as part of a renovation, he is claiming that the wall should have been built in brick, which would be an altogether better job. Yea he's rgi and he's asked the manufacturer out to look at the boiler to see what they suggest.
