    Guy
I'm looking to get plastic sheeting for my garden for weed control and came across silage pit covers which seem good value for money.

When it says 24x75 .. is that feet?
    Where's best to get it?
I'm based in North Kerry but assume most offer delivery.

    Thanks

Would you not try a local farmer, who would probably some old covers for free.

It's feet. Various sizes available but choice might not be in stock this time of the year. Terram would be a better option. 4m rolls are available. It would be dearer.

I've a 1000m2 veggie garden. Need to keep it as cheap as possible.

I don't think polythene is what you need. Weed membrane let's rain water through. Polythene won't.

It will kill the weeds/grass over the winter.
I'm on the side of a mountain so it's fairly wet.

Old floor covering, esp carpets are used by some but your area is big.

I think you'll mainly have to look at tilling methods, winter ground cover to be mulched in as a soil improver. Using stale and false seed beds. Sorry for the work involved.

Was a mad year with too much ploughed over ..lesson learned.
Plan is to cover it over to kill off the weeds that have grown and maintain the ground we cleared and work in raised beds over the winter...I need to source some pallets. :)

I've a thread in the gardening forum with photos.
