New Octavia 1.6 diesel or Corolla Hybrid

I'm currently looking to getting a new car. Looking to get an estate and have it currently narrowed down to the either the Skoda Octavia 1.6 L Diesel estate - Soleil trim or the Toyota Corolla Tour Sport 1.8 L Hybrid - Luna trim. Both are similarly priced.

My daily commute consists of roughly the following both ways -
    10mins - secondary roads 80km/hr
    30mins - dual carriageway driving @ 100-120km/hr.

    20mins - stop/start

My annual mileage is currently @ 25,000km

Which one would you consider be the better option for fuel efficiency/ reliability/ maintenance / general running cost?

Which one would you go for? My current car (2005 corolla I've had for 10+ yrs) is on its last legs so will hopefully be changing before the new year.

The current Octavia is being replaced by an all new model very soon, you would want to be getting a great deal on the run out model to entertain buying a new one at this stage.

Corolla a lot more up to date. Octavia quite dated now I think

    Ms

The Corolla is the better looking car too especially from the front but looks are subjective.

The soile octavia had just a few extras, one of which was a special badge so make sure it's a cracking deal compared to the nearest standard model. And that those features are things you would have sought out anyway and paid for.

Heated seats are awesome though! Will always get those as extras.

    Few good extras

    Half Leather upholstery
    Heated Front Seats
    Exclusive Soleil badge
    eCall & Care Connect*
LED headlights w/ AFS technology & front headlight washers
    Auto lights/rain sensor
    Auto-dimming rear-view mirror
    “SUNSET” dark tinted privacy glass

The lights pack is €1k on its own.

Don’t think I’d buy one new though, they’re around a while.

100% Corolla. The Octavia is a bit of a dinosaur by comparison, with replacement imminent.

The only areas where the Octy would be better is mpg, infotainment and boot space.

Maybe look at the narrowing down process again.
