Front parking sensors

Just curious if many cars come with front parking sensors fitted.
I have issues with depth perception and sometimes find it tricky to judge if a space is wide enough for my car. I tend to err on the side of caution and keep going til I find a decent space, but perhaps sensors would help.
Do many cars now have these, and are they only right on the front or perhaps the bumpers?

What you want is something like a Nissan Note with the around view monitor (google it)

Any decent car auto-electrician can supply & fit aftermarket parking sensors (front, rear or both) to almost any type of car. Give them the colour code of the paint for your car & they can get them painted for you. Would be an option if your chosen car doesn’t come with them (or cameras!)

But then your warranty would be void

I'd have thought they're an option at least on most new cars. It's probably only a matter of time before they're required for NCAP (along with reversing cameras).

Shouldn't be if fitted by a qualified professional, many dealers can do it too if you're worried about this.

Im fairly sure the warranty will only be void for a warranty claim that is caused by the fitting of the parking sensors, which is very unlikely.

They would unbalance the electrical load of the highly tested car and anything could happen :pac::rolleyes:

Get a self parking car if you can afford it.
It's fairly common now. The most common is probably 2015 onwards Passat which had it fitted to alot if them.
You indicate when driving slowly past a space you are considering. The car will tell you to stop if space is suitable.
Stick it into reverse and let the car do the steering. It works very well and is a great system for people who struggle to park.
It will also get you out of parking space too when leaving.

I guess the discussion has wandered here and elsewhere. since the other thread was locked (for good reason too).

I won't repeat myself, but I will say good luck to anyone pursuing a warranty claim related to electrics on a new car if some third party was fiddling with the electrics.

OP, if your car is under warranty, your dealer can almost certainly arrange for sensors to be fitted that will be the correct color and will come on at the right speed, etc. Will cost a few hundred euro is my guess.

Otherwise, any copentant auto electrician will do a nice job of it for you.

Thanks for the help. I'll pop into the dealer where I bought my car and see what they say. Probably replacing car in a few months anyway so might hang on and get one that has them already
