Hi. I’ve been reading your posts with interest. I’m thinking of switching from my current diesel XC60 to the PHEV model. My commute is just shy of 50Kms each way. There isn’t a charger at work yet but I’m hopeful that will change and I think that would mean that most of the commute could be on the battery.
Does anyone on here have this car? Thoughts or feedback on moving forward with the switch?
    Thanks!

I tested one for a week with my wife, we had a T5 at the time and were never quite happy with the power delivery or the economy for our 80km commute.

The T8 is a truly great car with the battery charged, the electric engine smooths out the petrol engine and performance is scorching. Once the battery drains the performance drop is really noticeable its like loosing a cylinder but still nippy. Charging was pain, its only 3.x kwh so takes an age to charge even on a rapid just over 3 hours.

50kms i would say is only achievable with a good tail wind and down hill so i would test your commute. Our 90km route with mixed motorway, n roads & city would give us about 36kms in the best areas for using the battery. The overall commute ended up at 4.6 lts/100km

The price got really expensive when you start optioning up, even a type 2 cable is a option at €300 so keep your current cable.

Had the XC90 for just over two months. I know it's a lot heavier than the XC60 but.. I think the range was advertised at 29 miles, but it struggled to get me the 24 km into work. Also, a drink problem when on petrol. Stunning car though.
