I've received a letter today from the State Examinations Commission that I have to pay for the LC even though I've received my results. Do I just ignore it? It's €300.

Did you not pay when you applied?
You should have got a bank giro form to get stamped when you put in your subject choices and levels (about February/March of the exam year).

If you have a medical card you are exempt from the fee, but everyone else pays.

Ignore it if you want, but it a debt you owe, unless you have a medical card. I'm amazed your school did not point this out to you.

I don’t think it’s even €300 to sit the leaving - Is it not around €150?

It may have been a repeat.

Something odd about the story anyway.
