If I were to pursure this degree, would I be able to become a secondary school teacher? I can't teach philosophy but would I be able to teach just English? Is only having one subject under my belt a good idea, or should I consider doing a different subject like history alongside English to be more competitive? Is trying to teach both philosophy and English in Northern Ireland or the UK a good idea?

Realistically, one subject isn't going to be enough and English teachers are ten a penny/cent. Can't speak for the English secondary system, but the primary school system there is shocking.
