    Hi,
how come some old users accounts that are closed - not banned - have all posts removed ?

    is it GDPR ?

It's a pity cos there were some classic posts from closed accounts - permabear comes to mind..

    Hi there,

Yes, prior to the rollout of our updated GDPR policy and procedure in December 2018, erasure requests were handled differently and an account's entire posting history was deleted.

So even if the closed poster didn't request it, they were wiped ?

Posts were only deleted if an account holder requested erasure through the various methods outlined in the original announcement. You can't view all posts from a closed account via the dropdown menu that you could use for an open account, however, because the database doesn't distinguish between an account closed because of an erasure request and one that was simply closed.
