Air in radiators

Every year, I have to bleed one or two of my radiators. I'm told this is because I have a leak and water is being replaced by air.
What do I need to do? Does this mean major disruption, with floors having to be dug up? How do we even find out where the leak is? Are there other options to fix this problem?

You might try to get a idea of what leakage you have, if any. If you have a pressurized system does it need frequent top up?, if you have a small tank in your attic tie up the ball cock for a few days and see if the level in this tank is falling. My attic rad runs at negative pressure and I have to bleed it now and then to release the air but I never notice any difference in the header tank even though I have a isolating valve on the make up which is closed.
