Dating without friends, is it possible?

I'm 21 and in a college course (PLC not proper college) but find it difficult to make friends. As someone said, it's unlikely that I will make friends or even date as most people this age are busy with their lives working, going out, studying etc.... Damn I regret not making friends in college.
