I have watched the first couple of episodes it is "fine" solid 6/10...good cast (bar the American woman who worked for his uncle... awful) ...but kind of falls between two stools not really sure what age group they are aiming at.

Well I'm watching it along with my 11 and 16 year old sons and we all love it.


I think it's got good pacing, great music, some well acted characters, doesn't dumb down for the kids but no bad language or sex scenes that are going to embarrass anyone if they're watching it with their dad!


My kids loved the books but this doesn't slavishly follow them in sequencing or events.


You could be hyper critical and say it's based on tired tropes, cardboard cut out characters and an old fashioned and non nuanced "goodies vs baddies"....but then you would be just being hyper critical :p



....anyway, I like it!

I have now finished the series.

I have to say it really improved as it went along the last couple of episodes were excellent.
I would defo watch a second series.

I've been using Nordvpn for years as it has app for android TV. I got 2 years for 83 recently. There are cheaper vpns around

I managed to get access to this and am watching Season 2 now - I'm surprised this isn't getting more love on here - this is very good!

Given that the source material was books aimed at teenage readers they've done a very good job of keeping it accessible to that that age while not dumbing it down either - my teenage kids love it.

We're on episode 6 of 8 and I hope it gets a third season.

Its on All4 now. Haven’t watched it, just seen the trailer. Not sure if it’s my kind of thing.

All 4 is great by the way, particularly bearing in mind that it’s a free service.
