Does anyone know how to make the black and red keyboard light up when the device is not plugged in.The function key combined with the number 9 is not making it happen and the board is quite dark.Thanks.

Not sure if you got it sorted try Fn and F10 that is wjhat you do on the 17'' screen version if that does not work you might have it set to battery saver mode.
