What do the Nordies do about the M50 Toll ?

I drove through it once and forgot to pay with my UK reg car. I received a letter about 8 months later saying I needed to pay 180quid and in 30 days it will rise.

I logged on put my Reg in and paid for 2 tolls, never heard from them again.

I pass it 4-6 times a year in a UK Reg, I could have saved myself a fortune!

So the pan-European collection agency (Euro Parking Collection) has no legal recourse hence they are making these write-offs?

How does a private company, euro parking collection, have access to names and addresses of citizens from a foreign country?

I got a parking fine up in Belfast one time. The notice was left under the wiper. I didn't pay it. I got a few letters in the post sent to my address down home in the Republic. Was wondering how they got my details that time too.

I have kept a few UK parking tickets as delightful momentos of my bandit years.
That old Clare reg Starlet was called The General McKee and the horn was rigged to play the first few notes of the Soldier's song. Many's the PC that slapped his dashboard in rage as she thundered past. Sadly she just didn't have the horsepower to clear an opening Tower Bridge.

Had relatives over from England and they didn’t pay it . Not familiar with that Toll system .

Get a ‘ threatening' letter a few weeks later .

Like I say Very Dumb toll re; Tourism .

Does the toll company not sell on the debt?

Also don’t norn local authorities sell their unpaid parking tickets now to debt collectors? I used to never pay in Newry, now I wouldn’t miss paying.

Far as I know local authorities in the south had a big problem with unpaid parking now. Don’t think they have now

Did they not see the huge purple signs saying “Toll”, and wonder what they meant?

There are barrier free tolls all over Europe so there no “poor innocent tourists” excuse.

Chancers always try to find someone else to blame when it goes wrong.

Couldn't they outsource to some local eh collection agencies ?

We need a hard border and put a toll on that to pay for the border checks.

Should stop all those Audi and white van florescent jacket wearing w****ers from stealing our tolls. Put average speed cameras on the M1 to hit them with on-the -spot fines too, since they can escape Irish penalty points.

They’re experts at tailgating on the M1 too. Drogheda toll and port tunnel. I know there was clampdown one day recently on the tunnel.

Maybe that was enough. For now anyway.

It’s run by a private company who were gifted the golden goose by a weak Irish government.
Without that money it’s still a massively profitable business for them, excessively so actually.

That's exactly what I say even I visit Spain and France, Italy etc and drive on their motorways
