Issue with Seat Alhambra

    Hi All,
Recently bought a second hand Alhambra with low mileage off a main garage.
Had it 10 days and Mrs was driving it, power dropped off completely to the point that 30Kph was all that she could do. Rang them, advised to shut off the engine and re-start after 5 mins. Appeared to work to some extent but there appears to be two issues now
    1. Power seems to come and go intermittently
    2. Reduced travel on the accelerator pedal - though the engine will still go into the red and it will open the throttle

MD has the car and have no fault found, no codes. The mechanic drove our car and another with similar miles and age on it and could find no fault. I think the reduced travel on the accelerator is obvious but he doesn't agree.

Any ideas? We have only had the car for 10 days but I think there is definitely reduced power, intermittently admittedly, and I am certain the travel on the accelerator is reduced also.
The car I drive is an Octavia and there is a massive difference on the range of travel on the accelerator between that and the Seat

Seems very unlikely after what sounds like limp mode. Split hose somewhere?

I'm not a mechanic and when I lifted the hood, there was no evidence of diesel or indeed oil anywhere. Would that preclude a split hose?

No, the turbo runs on exhaust gas and pressurizes intake air, so it would gas of one kind or another leaking, not diesel or oil.

Would there be a code on something like that

    Sounds like a fuel filter.
Looses power, turn off the car power comes back?
Most times doesn't show a code although some makes will show a low fuel pressure trouble code.
Was the fuel filter done on it?
Due every 60k on those alhambras.

I'm genuinely not taking the piss here, I didn't know there was a way to lock out an accelerator pedal. Is there any way there is a mechanical issue with that pedal?

(now to be honest it was news to me that diesels had throttles too, I admit I'm not up to date on German tech)

I had a very similar problem on an Octavia turned out to be a faulty throttle pedal although it was accompanied by the flashing heating coil light and a throttle pedal signal implausible code stored in the ECU.
