Starting car with low battery

    Hi,
Yesterday I was queing for a car wash with wipers on but engine off and ran down the battery, car wouldn't start. Normally have a jump starter with me but not that day. Couldn't get any jump leads and was wondering what my next move was when one of the car wash guys came over told me to open bonnet and start it. He did something and I've no idea what, but car started, low battery light flashing after but bit of driving sorted that out. All my googling can't find any idea as to what he did, he didn't open battery to add something in, wasn't enough time, I wasn't pushed... Whatever he did was quick as once we opened it he told me go start it so ten seconds tops that I didn't see him before starting. When I Google I get the usual, jump start, push start etc. Only possible thing would be tapping the starter but that's only for a dodgey starter rather than a low battery i think. Just puzzled and be a handy trick to know, like true magician be wouldn't tell me. Can you manually pull the motor to get it going?

Could be a small jumper pack, some are the size of a mobile phone.

Yeah it's about the only logical thing as can't see anything else, but I've a battery cover on so it just seemed very quick to book it up. No obvious truck I seem to be missing based on my searching anyway

You should get a battery coming into the winter bud. You'll be landed again somewhere.

Yeah I'm Def keeping an eye on it, I do have a portable jump starter, I was a few mins with wipers on and no engine running, so I'll see if that was it or if it's a repeat issue!
