I am wondering if my savings are going to be effected after Brexit?
I checked with AIB they have guarantee for 100k only.

I am thinking to put extras above 100k in different banks just to be on the safe side.

    Any thoughts on this?

There are better ways to invest over 100k than leaving it in a bank account.

If you have that much money in the bank you wouldn't be looking for financial advice on boards.

    Try again.

Better to keep the money under the bed in a fire proof safe.

Not a Brexit issue, but you need serious financial advice, if you're to be believed.

What if someone has an x-amount in the likes of Ulster Bank. Seeing that Ulster Bank is a British Bank, I wonder would savings in such a bank be affected by Brexit. Banks are to be trusted the same way as one would trust a politician.

Ulster Bank here are covered by the Irish Bank Guarantee Scheme.

I just bought loads of pairs of socks.

What’s the first thing everybody will need when the **** hits the fan? Good quality socks. The penny’s ones people wear these days won’t last five minutes in a zombie apocalypse.

When you see preppers with all their tins of food you never see socks.
Trench foot will be rife unless you buy my socks.

Data has shown that the price of quality socks is as steady as the gold standard when it comes to inflation during good times and actually double in value during world events like the Black Plague and the hiv epidemic in New York.

    Anyway hope I helped op.

I tend to steer clear of fad socks. Oliver Sweeney do a hand made Italian range for around £17 a pair.

During a global event like brexit socks of this class will rise in price to £25 atleast if you already have them in the U.K.

Pringle argyle will also see a rise although not as much as Oliver Sweeney.

I don't want to invest as we are moving to a new home soon, maybe December and majority of the amount will be gone in the house.

And when you are moving your stuff. What’ll you be wearing on your feet, under your shoes?

The OP is genuine & given their occupation, the amounts discussed are entirely plausible.

Looking for financial advice on this forum is, however, seriously naive.
