I got a beautiful silky spaniel puppy 3 months ago which I love dearly. The problem is I decided to call him 'Brexit', and now in public people give me these weird stares when I call his name.

I'm trying to think of a good nickname but it's quite hard. He doesn't seem to really respond to Brex.

    Any ideas?

YOu called a dog Brexit? WHY? Not kind!

    Maybe Irexit?

    Oh try REX?

Just pick a new name and stick with it. He'll get used to it.

Best way is to use both names together then gradually drop the old one. I am doing this with a cat just now. Works fine..

Wouldn't take him long to adjust to 'Build-that-Wall'

I think it’s not the name they respond to but the tone of voice. Though, I tend to call all my male dogs my Boysewisies and the females my Girlywirlies.

The thing is I really like the name. I'll try Rexit and see if that works.

Sprockit maybe. Brexit/Rexit are pretty much the same and I would assume get the same reaction .. which you may or may not care about.

Everyone is fed up of Brexit - and your pup is too by the sound of it lol.
