Do you brush your tongue ?

I was at Electric Picnic and one morning my fellow campers were brushing their teeth and respective tongues. I use an electric toothbrush - use it twice daily (first thing in the a.m. and last thing in the p.m.) followed by mouthwash.

I was the only person that didn't brush their tongue from a group of 8.

    Am I alone ?

I have an oscillating toothbrush - can't even imagine brushing my tongue with it bar the gag effect.

Perhaps I have been doing it all wrong over the years and am filth.

Start at the tip and gradually work your way back along your tongue until you get the gag reflex.
Some people choose to stop then but others are able to continue and do a thorough job, despite gagging.

Same as & I'd be fairly liberal with the mouthwash too.

Yes, but I find it cathartic.

I do, then use a tongue scraper. Amazing the amount of stuff that comes off your tongue.

It's great if you drink too much and need to puke before you fall unconscious.

Yes, I need to. If I dont brush my tongue it goes white after a very short time, just a few days..which is a sign of it being infested with bacteria

Yes ...it gets rid of SOME of the bacteria on the tongue which can also go to on to your teeth and cause gum disease or plaque etc.

Ideally i should be sterilizing my toothbrush ..but those sets are expensive.

Of course you brush your tongue. You savage! also you should use mouthwash first, other wise it washes away all the fluoride from the toothpaste before it does it's thing,

Shrug ..diff people have different amounts of bacteria in their mouths its to do with the quality of your saliva and maybe genetics and diet etc. Other lifestyle factors too.

I don't know if i need to do it or not. I have always done it though even as a kid.

Someone once said it helped prevent colds and sore throats too. Not really sure about the veracity of that though.

But the bacteria all over your mouth creates gum disease etc ..its why you use mouth wash or brush gentle around the gums and under the tongue ....(which i also do.)

Do it every morning but then dry retch for 30 seconds. Strangely calming.

I always get breast and a leg when I'm in Supermacs. each to their own I suppose.

That's really dangerous. I know a girl who was bulimic and did that she swallowed a toothbrush plus a spoon once she had to go to the emergency room both times.

People have things break off etc. If it wants to come up it will or the feeling will pass.

Thing is, I'd do it if it made a difference, but in truth I wouldn't know if I needed to brush my tongue or not.

Evidently not everyone brushes their tongue. I feel marginally less infested yet equally seedy.
