    • Why are you interested in this role/company?

Difficult to answer this without knowing the company but something along the lines of liking the company ethos / direction. I'm interested in the role as I'm an excellent fork lift truck driver looking to progress within the company as opportunities arise. As I say this one is a bit more specific.

    • What benefits can you bring to our organisation?

You're a flexible, team player who thrives in a busy environment.

    • Where do you see career in 5 years?

Something along the lines of progressing as opportunities arise - you'd need to know a bit about the company structure here. Is there a fork lift driver supervisor?

    • What type of environment do you work best in?

Busy fast moving environments where there is always something to do, however if there is down time you can self start and are willing to self develop / assist others in the work place.

    • What has been your proudest achievement?

Personal one this but perhaps getting your driver qualification top X in class?

    • What would your colleagues say about you?

    Motiveted, hard worker.

    • What have you enjoyed about your previous roles?

Again a personal one. Can fit in something about team work here if you like.

    • Are you prepared to relocate or travel within this role? (if applicable)

    Yes / No.

    • What are you interests outside of work?

Team sports is always a great one, otherwise general fitness or something that reduces stress but not something that will possibly impinge on work.

Hope that's of some help I'm afraid I'm more office based. Basically you are just trying to get across how much of a hardworker you are and what a team player etc along with having the requite skills for the job.

Hope you get a few more ideally from someone who has applied for this sort of role directly. You still need to come across as you though.

    Very best of luck!

Great answers from Samual, its been a while since i drove forks (20 years) but i would add some technical aspects as well to each question where applicable. Also Teamwork will probably score more points than technical so always squeeze in something about working as a team and being a team player.

Different types of fork lifts you have experience with (side load, counter balance, stacker, 3 wheel, gas/electric/diesel etc)
Quick to learn a new machine
    Productivity - you are a fast/safe operator, loading/unloading accurately & safely
Working in Complex layouts, multiple load types
Using scanners, computers and being flexible with learning new devices or even processes
Helping other team members if your work slows down - flexible

Having the questions in advance can be a double edge sword where if you memorize an answer you can sound like a robot. Also if they ask a question not on the list it can throw you off track so prepare for other types of question as well.

    hey guys
this could be a sticky thread!!!

anyone got some great answers to these screening questions

    “Tell me about yourself.” ...
    “Describe your work history.” ...
“What are your salary requirements?” ...
“Why are you interested in this job?” ...

    1. Focus on the positives any sports you play, do you like to keep fit?
    2. Tailor this to the job you're going for. Know the role your applying for inside and out and point out the transferable skills.
    3. Again know the role but be realistic, if they aren't paying enough, they aren't paying enough.
    4. This is basically an opportunity to show what you know about the company. You'd like to join a company that does X and Y. You're impressed by their commitment to Z.

Hope that helps. Hopefully some more people will chime in, it's been a while since I did this sort of interview.
