Nokia 7.2 released

I was reading some reviews of the Nokia 7.2 and it looks pretty good for its pricepoint.

    https://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_7_2-9833.php

I have the 7 plus version and have been very happy with it to be honest, the main attraction here being the upgraded camera plus the fact that its an android one phone as well.
My wife likes my phone so was thinking of getting this for her for Christmas as her phone is getting long in the tooth.
I see the pre-stock price on amazon is £250 for the 64gb version which is pretty reasonable.
Anyone any thoughts/recommendations on something else in the same price bracket that might be better?

I'm not sure on if the 6GB to 8GB will make a huge performance difference for the average user. The extra storage is the reason I'd upgrade, for drone and dash cam footage..

Wouldn't go near a Nokia again, was great ( 7 plus) but back for repairs twice, charging port messed up,not charging - major worldwide fault, yet Nokia won't admit it

K20 doesn't even have NFC... Pop up camera might be a novelty but is definitely not an advantage... One more moving part to break.

Yeah the K20 not having NFC is a total deal breaker - can't top up Leap card using the phone, cant use google pay etc
The pop up camera is just daft in my opinion, not a fan. Android One is a major plus over MIUI for me though my wife is Chinese so maybe in her native language it might be more to her taste?

Anyone have the Mi 9T, this website says its better? - https://www.kimovil.com/en/compare/nokia-7-2,xiaomi-mi-9t
About the same price on eglobal as the Nokia 7.2. No sd slot though.

I have the 9T and its a great phone and crucially does have NFC for you. Check the thread on the 9T for more details, like you I prefer pure stock android but MIUI is not too bad, I just installed Nova launcher and it helped clear a few issues I have.

Just a word of warning... I bought my last phone from eGlobal... Took over a month to arrive, then when the usb port failed, I wasn't able to get it repaired under warranty, the manufacturer looked up the IMEI and said they wouldn't cover it. eGlobal still won't allow me to return it over 6 weeks later, they are a bollox to deal with... So save a few euros at your own risk. But I'm still without a phone even though I bought it a few months ago.

Good to hear! Would recommend Honorbuy it's a bit more expensive but will come a lot quicker than the two weeks for Eglobal plus they are much easier to deal with if something was to go wrong.

Managed to get RCS messaging working even though I was under the impression it wouldn't work on dual SIM... The future is now

    Do you not have whatsapp?

    Do you not have whatsapp?

I do have WhatsApp, but it relies on the other person having WhatsApp too. It is also owned by Facebook and information shared is not safe... Only this week, the Israelis were found to be hacking WhatsApp belonging to journalists and political opponents.

RCS is an open system, independent of carrier or app & offers several additional features not available on WhatsApp.

So, yes, I do have WhatsApp, but would prefer to transition to a more open platform.

I got the big Android 9 update last night. Phone is running great, very smooth. Apparently it is in preparation for the Android 10 update to be released in the next few weeks.
