My neighbour wishes to buy a strip of land from me for access to the side of his house. He will build a wall to separate the strip from my garden. He has offered me ownership of the wall or he could take ownership. Grateful for views as to best option including opting for a party wall. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Syd, is it because I don't want to be stuck with the maintenance for the whole wall or are their other reasons?

mainly because there is good established laws around party boundaries already.

should one body take ownership, then it leaves a possibility of argument in the future over who exactly owns what and whos responsible for what.

Are you in an area where houses are built in back gardens?
