    Hi,

I am based in Cork and looking to source gears from old gearboxes for making into lamps. Does anyone know where I can source any of these? I tried a few breakers yards but they say that they don't have any.

    I would appreciate any help.

    Thanks.

Naas gearbox centre have a place in cork. Can’t remember where it is.

There’s a place called Cork gearbox centre too in Little Island.
I’d recommend going somewhere like that vs stripping down a box.

Heavy items, are you proposing to pay the going rate plus the labour involved in removing them? Usually nowadays the engine and box are ripped out by a machine in a couple of seconds.

I have no rpblem paying for the gears. I don't fancy gettting a whose gearbox and stripping it apart. I then have to dump the rest of it. I was hoping to get some gears that were otherwise being sent to scrap. And as I said I have no rpoblem paying for them.

Try Cork Gearbox Centre mentioned above. I've only had one interaction with them but found them to be very helpful.
