    Hi.

My contract for Duel Fuel with another supplier expires on 5th October 2019.

Should I complete the switch to Electric Ireland now, or wait until I can supply  a final meter reading at midnight 5th October next?

    Hi Wine Gums,

Thanks for your interest in Electric Ireland.

Only switch after your contract expires. You do not need to do anything in advance. Supply is not affected, and your registration with Electric Ireland will be back-dated to the date of your switch and its accompanying up-to-date reading that you note from the meter.

When the switch message reaches your current provider, they will close your account and issue you with a final bill for usage and charges up to the date/meter-reading of your switch away from them.

Let us know if you have further queries.

    Kind regards,
    Una
