    I have been with my employer for nearly 3 years and have not signed a permanent contract. Could I at any point ask my employer to let me go instead of quitting?

    I currently work on a rolling contract - terms of leaving are in there.

    Mine is one week, but generally contracts are 1 or 2 weeks. Best to check.

    I’m still technically on probation I only signed my 6month probationary contract nothing after.

    With my experience of probation you should be able to leave without any notice, or minimal (1 -2 weeks)

    You're not: probation is only a year long.

    If you want to leave, then just resign.

    If you want go leave and go on the dole, you're out of luck: your employer is asked if they have more work for you.

    You're wrong - Probation is as long as the employer states and a separate contract will exist for this.

    Some employers won't have a probationary contract at all, some will and it can be anywhere between 3 to 12 months generally.

    Details of notice periods will be in the probationary contract.
