    Please help.
I have a beautiful border collie, who is 9 years and 1 month old. He has arthritis in his front right leg after an accident where he broke his leg but the vet cast it incorrectly and his bones fused.

Last night we went out for a walk, and I noticed his back legs slipping, and then kind of collapsing from under him, but not completely.

He seemed fine, didn’t seem to be in any pain while this happened. I’m very upset and worried. Googling it seems to have thrown up this condition and the prognosis for it doesn’t seem good.

He is my family and I cannot imagine a life without him so I need advice, or help, or anything really that means I can take care of him. I know he needs to go to the vet, but I am terrified.

So terrified that you wont go to the vet?
Bring him to the vet in the morning and then you'll know what your dealing with.
Right now your terrified of the unknown.

DM is a very difficult condition to diagnose and not usually seen in collies (doesn’t mean it cant happen but is unlikely)

Slipping can be due to all a sorts of issues .. hip dysplasia, numerological issues, slipped discs, pain from arthritis etc

Please bring him to the vet ASAP and get tests carried out so u can see what your dealing with

Old man I knew used to say" F.E.A.R...… False Evidence Appearing Real "

Whatever this is you will more than cope, and the love you have for your dog will carry you through it for him. We all fear, and we all cope in that love! Be blessed today!
