Eir FTTH - Replace F2000 Router

Hi guys,

I have the Eir FTTH 150MB package.

Last year I upgraded the WiFi by adding the Netgear Orbi RBK43 mesh system.

I put the Eir F2000 router into bridged mode and then added the Orbi units throughout the house.

They work well and I've good WiFi coverage throughout the house now.

However, I've been tinkering with a similar change at my folks house over the weekend. What I noticed buried in the settings in the Netgear console was a VLAN tagging setting.

I'm now wondering if I actually need to include the Eir F2000 router in my setup at all now, can the Orbi RBK43 be used directly with FTTH?

If it can do VLAN tagging on WAN .it can be used without the F2000. VLAN 10 is what you need.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not overly sure what this VLAN setting is for, it's in the advanced settings and not the internet connection settings so it might be unrelated.

The screenshot is very small, the best I can do off my phone.

Try this. Internet VLAN should be 10 with priority 0.

Ignore the IPTV VLAN and priority, you don't need them.

Perfect, and that is with the Orbi then plugged directly to the fiber ONT?

I need to get another method to power my Tado home heating module so when I get that I'll try what you have.

Yep,direct connection, Eir FTTH 300/50 package.
