I was just thinking there now while watching the RTE punditry of the Ireland v Scotland match. And it struck me in this new age of all Ireland inclusiveness that the 'CORK' accent on being nearly mandatory on RTE at one time, could be relegated down the line in favour of the east coast accent first, the northern accent second and perhaps maybe then the 'CORK' accent.
Although Eddie O'Sullivan does his best. Bless him.

    What say you After Hours?
Should there be elocution lessons in Cork now to learn east coast and nordie?

You're saying that RTE will show favouritism for people with a northern accent?

First east coast (not a strong dubalin) accent, now a nordie in second and then a cork third.
Cork used to be that second favoured accent for diversity on RTE.

This is a stupid thread. There's no such thing as a tier in accents.i will tell u what is stupid, Irish people speaking with a put on accent. Speak in your normal accent.

You do know it's an all island rugby team ?

So you'd kinda expect Northern accents.
