Connecting printer to router.

I have a hp m401n printer that I want to connect to my home network so I can print from our laptops.
It isn't wireless
The printer has no Ethernet port just a standard printer port so you can connect to a computer by usb. Is there a adaptor I can buy please

Are you sure it has no Ethernet port? The specification for that model indicates it has.

However, M401n should have Ethernet. You might have M401a or M401d

Sorry lads. I was following the duplicate thread so did not see these replies.
It's the m401d printer that I have,theres definitely no ethernet port.
I have an eir router and there is a usb port.
is that worth a try?

I do have the f2000 router. Tonight I'm going to move the printer next to router and plug the printer cable into the usb on the router. Do I just use a laptop to find the printer on the network or am I missing some steps.
