Strange one on the way home this evening; there is a new permanent blue sign, in English and Irish, stating 'Tiredness Kills' at the Enfield junction heading west. New signs for the M4 services as well, at 5km out.

Yea they have them on the M7/8 now as well. Personally I don't think they should have used blue for these, but that's me. It just offends my sense of aesthetics and dilutes the purpose of those blue signs as useful directional information. Same way as those mobile orange LED signs are now everywhere for advertising rather than temporary warning signage

But then that ridiculous 1x1/1x2 shyte still annoys me too.. I have issues :p

They've been around for years, possibly decades - just quite rare.

Embarrassed to say this but the first time I saw them on the M8 I thought it was a sign for a village or something... Thought it was a weird name... Continued on...saw a second sign and went, Oh!

They're generally just ahead of a motorway services in my experience. Save lives/increase revenue.

And this is why they shouldn't be in the same format/colour as standard motorway information/directional signage. It just causes confusion and dilutes the impact/importance of the original intent.
