Sky recording feature

Recently I pre-set a movie to record. At the time the movie was actually about to start, someone else was trying to watch something on another channel. I forget exactly what it was but some icon kept coming up on the screen about the recording that wouldn't seem to go away. For whatever reason the only way it seemed to let me get rid of the on screen message was to cancel the recording all-together. It would have recorded away fine if the TV was turned off!

Has anyone else had this problem?!

OP do you have Sky+HD, or Sky Q? If you have Sky+HD, had you something else set to record at the same time as the movie?

Sky+HD has only two tuners; if you want to record two shows, you have to watch one of them or it will prompt you to cancel one of the recordings.

This is less likely to happen on Sky Q, which has more tuners (the exact number depends on whether you have the 1TB or 2TB box).

By the sounds of it you have a Sky+HD or standard Sky+ box. The reason this is happening is because one of the inputs at the back of your box is not getting a signal. Have a look and see if both input 1 and 2 are connected.
