Recommended me a laptop?

It's been 8 years since I built my last computer with an i5-2500k processor and these days the desktop just gathers dust in a corner for a variety of reasons.

So I'm looking to replace it altogether with a laptop. I've a budget of around €1200 - willing to spend less or more for the right equipment.

It'll be a jack of all trades machine with some light photo and video editing (think family/hobby stuff) and probably spend most of it's time as a gaming machine. I won't be buying titles as they are released rather chasing a backlog of games but I'd like that to be where it performs best.

Would like an SSD boot drive and 1tb storage ideally as this will need to be a bit of a workhorse to include transferring lots of photos to a soon to be bought NAS.

Where I'm lacking in current knowledge is the variety of processors and graphics choices and which represents the best value.

This is what I have had my eye on, or something along these lines at least.

Should I go for an i7 machine to try give more future lifespan? 8gb of ram can always be upgraded later if needed so going 16 now isn't a must.

I'm also not set on a 15.6 and 17" is an option. Battery life not hugely important as it will be used near power more than not.

Some other machines I've looked at are the Dell range G3/G5.

Any other obvious suggestions, is there something out there that represents insane value right now? Looking to buy in the next week or so

    Thanks!
