Sewage pipe damage

Apologies in advance, if i have this in the wrong location, but have a query regarding a damaged pipe outside our house.
Living in a new build for nearly 2 years now. House was built but left idle for 3 or 4 years prior to us moving in. There was a recurring sewage smell that used to appear every so often but we only recently got around to trying to find out what the issue was. A camera inspections shows that the pipe to the septic tank has been crushed in a few places which allows the wastewater to gather in a few spots. The drains guy that did the camera for us, was fairly surprised at the damage.
Just want to know if the original builder/installer has any responsibility for this.
    Any thoughts?
