That's a HDi engine from Peugeot/Citroen, one of that vintage wouldn't have the best reputation for reliability and I'd imagine in a big heavy V70 it wouldn't pull you out of bed. You would be better off with the 2.0d.

Its speced at 109bhp. Im driving a 1.6 petrol passat now so it couldnt be any worse lol

Yes it could... Bad bad engine that'll break your heart quicker than a hormonal 14 year old, look elsewhere.

Power is relative to the weight of the car. A V70 is a good bit heavier than a Passat. Then stick people and stuff in the back and it's worse.

What do ye think of this car lads? Ive never had keyless entry before and tbh id be concerned about possible failure in the future and big bills. I dont need a diesel either but there's no half decent petrol estates in my area that dont have huge tax. Any input appreciated

Ugliest front on a car I've seen this long time but they're a great car, so smooth and comfortable particularly on a long spin no harm in giving it a look anyway.

Cheers for reply. Do you think money is a bit strong?

Definitely, offer him 4K and rise to 4 and a half that should seal the deal, times have moved on and the aul Vensis ain't making what they did a few years ago.

Looks a nice, well specced car, if it has good history it well worth a look.
Ideally I'd be looking for slightly less mileage, but thats not essential if its looked after.
