Hi All, Currently building a house, will have a sitting room approx 4.5m x 4.75m.. Most stove calculation work out at 5kw House will be highly insulated and air to water heating. I currently have a 14 kw inset cassette stove in current house...is this just not suitable for the new room? Not sure if it would be too hot to…

Hi All,

House will be highly insulated and air to water heating.

I currently have a 14 kw inset cassette stove in current house...is this just not suitable for the new room? Not sure if it would be too hot to stick if I use it.

Any thoughts and experiences?

Not an expert on this but a stove installer told me that if you over spec the KW of the stove then the room will be like a sauna and you'll have to open the windows and let heat out. There is a thread on stoves in this forum, perhaps ask there
