Smart Projector

I'm looking to get a projector that will mainly be used for netflix and sports.

Ideally I'd like to watch netflix on it without needing any cables connected to the projector. Is there a smart solution with built in netflix support? Maybe casting from the phone or something like that? I'd prefer not to have to open a laptop for this.

I accept for sport I will need to have a HDMI cable plugged in.

4k support would be nice as well.

Hi AnswerIs42.

Thanks for the post.

There really are not too many smart projectors that we stock.

There is the Optoma UHL55 priced at £1199
https://www.richersounds.ie/p-203844-optoma-uhl55-4k-uhd-hdr-dlp-projector.aspx

Also the Optoma 9400W which has wireless connectivity priced at £2899
https://www.richersounds.ie/p-203840-epson-eh-tw9400w-4k-enhanced-hdr-3lcd-projector.aspx

Another option would be to use either a firestick or Chromecast device which would just connect to the projector via HDMI and has Netflix etc pre loaded, you can also cast to these from your phone. These would nto be something that we would stock though.

The starting point for a 4K projector however is around the UHL55 pricing.

A little cheaper is the BenQ W1720 priced at £1098 (Non Smart)
https://www.richersounds.ie/p-204089-benq-w1720-4k-uhd-hdr-dlp-projector.aspx

Let me know your thoughts.

Hi Kenny,

Thanks for the reply.

The UHL55 sounds interesting. Reading a review on line and it says that 4k is good but HD bad, would you agree with that? Maybe there has been a software update to deal with this:

https://www.techradar.com/reviews/optoma-uhl55

However, the UHL55 is strictly a 4K machine. Turn to a HD source – in this case a broadcast of F1 motor racing from Austin, Texas on the 4HD channel via a Virgin Media V6 box – and image quality collapses.

Also, do you know what version of Android it is running?

Thanks very much

Hi AnswerIs42.

To be honest I have not seen it up and running so I can't really give a proper review on how it performs with an HD source.

It uses Android 6.0 with Optoma Marketplace app store.

I see if you have the epson tw7100 on site.

Can you do a price match against the epson site itself?

You are selling for €1769 but they are selling for €1699

Hi AnswerIs42.

Unfortunately I can not offer to price beat against a German website.
We can only offer price beats against UK or Irish retailers.

However we are currently out of stock and awaiting on more arriving into our main warehouse.

Let me know your thoughts.

Do you know when more are expected back in stock?

What is the best price you can do today on the tw7100? Could the code black80 be applied to the sterling price?

I would prefer to buy with you if possible.

Thanks

Hi AnswerIs42.

The BLACK80 code is only on certain products and unfortunately not the TW7100 projector.
Any qualify products have the code listed in the product description. Not all products are reduced in the Black Friday sale.

The price has remained the same on the 7100 at 1769 Euro.

Still no ETA at the minute. I can check again on Monday when our new incoming list in released.
