It's like they are erasing famous men from history and replacing them with obscure women or am I imagining things?

Today's doodle is of a German pakistani of the Society of the Daughters of the Heart of Mary

Also born on September 9th was Leo Tolstoy, one of the most famous and important writers in human history

Is someone obscure because you haven't personally heard of them and should they honour Leo every single year with a doodle or maybe look for other people to mention?

Yes. I had to Google her to find out who she was

Wish they'd go back to doing the games on the homepage and in maps. Maps Pacman was brilliant.

Isn't that a good thing? You've learned something new today.

Tolstoy has already had a doodle, back on 9 September 2014. Google policy is to avoid repeat doodles for the anniversary of an individual's birth.

I had forgotten all about Google doodles. Must start clicking them again. Cheers OP

You can set a calendar reminder for the 9th of September each year for Tolstoy's birthday. Throw in a picture of him and a link to his Wikipedia page and you're all set.
