Shower cabinet advice...?

I want to replace a shower/bath in an apartment (the bath is never used, only the shower) and replace it with a shower cabinet.

This would be neater and create more space.

I want to buy something that is pretty much bullet proof.

Which makes are the Bosch/Siemens/Miele of shower cabinets?

I’ve been told to consider a four walled cabinet, which would mean not having to deal with tiling again in that corner of the bathroom. Make sense? If so, any links to good four walled cabinets?

    Anything else I should consider?

    Many thanks.

    D.

Water pressure needed for the new unit to function as intended.

    Thanks.

Existing shower pressure is fine. Wouldn’t the new unit be equally good?

    It’s a basement apartment.

Sod tiling a shower wall! I got these tongue and groove sort of cellular plastic sheets :) Whack a few batons up and fire these things to it. Even I managed it, with ease!

Bloody great stuff too! Goodbye, gungy grout! ;)

How did you finish them at the bottom where they meet the shower tray?

Just had a look: They simply sort of butt end there. Never had a problem.

My mate fitted the tray though. Wonder if he sealed it in against those two walls

I can well ~ and literally ~ see ye point though. One could expect water to get under there. But, no: I regularly fire a high pressure hose around in there too. Never a problem. Almost seems strange, doesn't it?

You can get the trim that they slot into.
I fitted them in my bathroom.Very clean.

That trim can cause problems, water has very narrow shoulders.

    Prefer tiling myself.

It's an awfully satisfying job that will last absolutely years.

Just finished mine with a mosaic floor 1800x900

Don't scrimp on the shower space OP. You'll gain unused space in the bathroom just fill the whole bath area with shower for luxury and space.

You'll feel like your in a hotel rather than a crappy 900x900 box.

That's exactly what I'm looking for.

Any other brand suggestions along the same lines?

    Thanks.

Agree with this, will be removing the bath in one of the bathrooms and intend to fill in the whole space as a shower with a glass door extending along.

lister what solution did you opt for with the shower tray? Im hoping to have the entire floor and shower tray flush and all on one level but not sure if I need a specialised tray or how it works to achieve that. Wont be doing the work myself in any case but just wondering how it works.
