Not for logistics role but yes for other role.

They'll want to see your understanding of the industry requirements (quality/trace-ability etc awareness) how your prior experience is relevant to them and your knowledge of the company and what the role would entail.

It's a common practice now used to ensure a face to face will not be completely redundant and a waste of time.

It's a good opportunity to make a good first impression as you can have bullet point notes to hand (make sure you can back them up and don't make it sound like you are reading).

    Hi Reticilum

Regardless of the industry, screeners are usually an attempt to narrow down the candidates that are brought through to the next round, and therefore unlikely to be as in-depth as the questions you'll get later.

Questions might cover areas such as your motivation, your cv, your technical knowledge and surface level information such as your salary expectations. For a (non exhaustive) list of questions, go to google and type Budding Blog, and read the article called "3 tips for success in a screening interview".

In relation to the questions you can ask, anything that conveys genuine interest in the role is usually good. Can you establish what the team / org goals are or what pain points they are currently experiencing. Though you may not get a chance to do this in a screening interview, if you can address these pain points later on (with your skills / experience/behaviours) it will really help you.

    Good luck!
