Can I buy knives from China without risking getting a criminal record? I looked it up online and specifically "flick knives" are illegal but what I've read online is very vague.

Specifically looking at Sanrenmu 7010 and other chinese flip-up knives.

I think the fact that you think asking AH on boards is the right place to get advice on importing dangerous weapons suggests it's best that you stay away from knives.
