Avensis D4D exhaust

Hi guys, so I own an Avensis 07 2.2 D4D. I took this little baby to Poland and got my exhaust checked as one part got of the exhaust got bit damaged, its more as an egg shaped rather then circle now but I've been told its fine as the volume of the pipe its the same.

Back to Ireland and I just noticed that before the reshaped part of the exhaust, there is a dent, I've presumed that happened on the ferry while I was going up the ramp.

So my question is, can I go to the workshop, tell'em to get rid off the entire section including muffler and make me a new straight pipe to the back with the tip on it?

Will it pass the nct then? Will it be too loud? In fairness, it's diesel so turbo itself is huge muffler far as I know. I just want that little cho cho sound a bit louder ^_^

How big is the dent? Photo?

If car goes fine, no exhaust leaks, no strange/loud sounds off exhaust, I wouldn't bother. :)

Exhaust mod you mentioned would definately be a fail.

Well I didn't notice any power loose, still the same output.
Sometimes I could hear a little whistle at the back but I doubt its the damaged part, more the seal between the pipes.

Oh I see, so its better just to get custom muffler just for looks cause its diesel. I know it won't change the sound :D

You don’t need our permission to straight pipe your exhaust system.

True but if the pipe itself on the pictures is fine, there's really no need to fix it?
Sure if I have to, I'll do it something different but if it's grand then its pointless to waste money on exhaust that won't make a sound difference due to its fact it diesel.

You should be more concerned about the rust on the arms...

Unless it’s leaking then just leave it alone.
Swapping the section out for another one would be much easier than making up something from scratch either way.

I can hear bit of whistle, I'll check that tomorrow, I guess I will have to go under the car and ask someone to rev it for me.

What rust? They didn't say anything about it on NCT either diagnostic center in Poland.
