Right so, in my browser I've just counted 32 tabs open, and that's not counting the 'private browsing' tabs, (one window, not porn at the minute...)

there are at least five Facebook tabs, two youtube, three NewScientist, four Reddit, four Google search, one streamable.com, two phys.org/news, two Boards.ie, discovermagazine.com, two theguardian.com, two britgeopeople, sciencealert.com, Irish Times, wikipedia and fora.ie

    ...

What’s your affiliation with the sites you linked OP?

absolutely no affiliation at all, i tried to link them reddit style, but that didnt work....

just sites i might have an interest in

    edit
first one was a movie "Atlantis: End of a World, Birth of a Legend (2011)"

second one was the 'advance-of-agonic' (basically, the green line is where compass north points true north...(compass does not point along the line, but at any point on the line it does point to true north (due to regional gravitational fields)))

third one showed wave-particle duality in large molecules (not just single particles ...)

    the last one was this...

14 tabs, comprising news sites, email, booking site, articles I need to read, blog, weather, and magazine site.

40 tabs. Some are Reddit, some are for work, some are paid surveys, and some are reading material I'm not finished with yet. The number of tabs rarely dips below 20.

    2. 1 reminding me of something and the other for browsing. Hate having loads of tabs open.

Just checked there and I had 3 open on my phone. I hate having tabs open, so I closed the other two. Thanks for the reminder OP.

My wife once handed me her phone saying it was broken - she couldn’t open a link from an email. After restarting and checking that all software was updated, I took a look at her tabs. Seemed like she had a few open, so I scrolled. And scrolled. And scrolled. Then I went back and started counting. 500 tabs. Turns out 500 tabs the limit on iOS 11 Safari. When I said it to her that she had 500 tabs open and needed to close one, or some, or loads, to be able to open any more, she goes “but I need them all, what if I wanted to find something again?”.

10 tabs since I only have 4gb ram on my laptop. Anymore tabs and it slows down and crashes.

That will slow down your computer

    11
Because I don't have the time/ materials to do them now and if I close them I WILL forget about them and have to do all the searching again

Rarely more than 10 as I recycle old tabs for new stuff. Not a memory issue but just seems a bit pointless to have so many going.

32 tabs on my phone alone. Got knows how many my personal laptop has.

The mild control freak in me is cringing at this. Never would have more than 3 or 4 open on my laptop and usually close off any on my phone as soon as I'm done.

The only reason I have more than one open on the laptop is so I can quickly switch if somebody comes up to my desk to something a little more professional looking :D

consumes more power, slows down the browser - easier just opening a new tab when you need it
