Open cct. battery voltage?

What do you guys reckon the open circuit battery voltage should be?
Reason I ask is that I was working on the Satnav this afternoon and when all re-assembled the car won't start. It gives multiple errors on the display viz. Check Injection, Power Steering fault, insert Keycard and more....
So I have the battery disconnected and have just cheacked the open cct. voltage at 11.9V. This strikes me as being on the low side. I'm suspecting the battery or perhaps the ECU has been damaged by some sort of voltage spike!
    What do y'all reckon?

11.9v wont start the car, that's very flat. You may have unintentionally let the battery run down? Sounds like you're just getting low voltage errors. Try a new battery or jump starting the car.

OK so I charged the battery overnight and it started OK this morning but I still have two errors viz. *Check Injection System* and *Check anti-pollution System*.

Interestingly, even though the battery was out overnight the radio still did not request a code to resume working - all stations still stored!

    Any ideas?

What's the voltage now with the engine off?

At the moment with engine OFF it's 12.46V.

Also noted just now that the *Check Injection System* error has cleared but the *Check anti-Pollution System* error remains!

(Battery is the original one at just over 8 yrs old so probably near end-of-life?)

Just a quick update....*Check anti-pollution System* error light has also since cleared....new battery to be fitted tomorrow.
