    Hi all

Looking for some guidance. Have been looking into an A3 saloon (1.4l petrol) and thinking of importing from the UK. Low milage bar a long run every few weeks. Wife now is expecting our first, and am a bit concerned that we will struggle with boot space.

Any thoughts on a decent alternative, or would we be ok with the A3 saloon? Wife is an audi fan, the A3 Sportback perhaps? Budget is €18-20k.

    TIA

The saloon is a lovely car imho. If the boot fits a buggy and you dont mind the bending down to get the nipper in and out, why not?!

Yeah I really like it for looks, much nicer than an A4 imo.

The problem with saloons is the boot's opening is restrictive and some saloon cars don't have a rear split folding seat. Hatchbacks are generally more practical as they have a wider opening boot for things like buggies or prams. Look at the A3 Sportback.

The hatchback will be more practical.

What if I told you you could get two, yes two 2019 hatchbacks for the price of a used A3 saloon?

    Introducing the Sandero Access.

This is the new facelift model so it's a lot more fancier than the pre facelift like having wheel covers and a shiny Dacia badge on the steering wheel.
It might not be as fancy or as techie as the A3 with a radio, electric windows/mirrors and stuff but has a good boot, decent space in rear for the child and it'll be economical in the upcoming recession.

A3 will give you a decent sized boot and space for a buggy. Unless you are looking at a double buggy

If you plan on buying something like the bugaboo it breaks into two pairs and will give you loads of space after you slot in.

I have Golf and only have issue with the double Out N About but then I just need to take the cover off.

Not normally one to bite but will someone ban the Dacia salesman from motors!!

I actually think the a3 saloon is best looking car in the Audi range especially in S Line its a real looker. Just so well proportioned. However, I've been in them a few times and they are noticeably tighter than an A4 which is noticeably tighter again than an A6 which is what my missus has. She got a cracker of a 2014 A6 S Line with only 60,000 kms on it last year in line with your budget.

If that's a bit big for her then compromise with the A4 (possibly an Avant).

Not sure what year you wanted in the A3 but for same budget I'd say you'll get an A4 just one year older and maybe an A6 2 years older and have a good bit more space and a bit more spec like for like too.

Especially with baby on the way.
