Update Registration without Cert

Ok so quite a while ago I took an old rust-bucket off a friends' hands with the view to a project bike. She didn't have a reg cert or even the keys at this point. It won't be long until it's ready for the road again but I need to get this registered again under my name.
All I have is the registration number and an approximate address of where she lived when it was last taxed.
We've since fallen out so not really ideal to ask her to do anything. I'm just wondering how to I declare it as mine, essentially picked up as scrap.

Talk to the Registration people in Shannon. I believe there is a form you fill out and you make a declaration witnessed by a garda or commissioner of oaths. Did this about ten years ago and it was quite straightforward.

All you need is the reg number...fill out the form, get it witnessed and verified/stamped what the bike is at a main dealer....hope she didnt report it stolen....:P
