    Hi,

I changed a setting based on an article for quicker website performance- now images blur while loading- http://patrickdinneen.ie (site isn't 100% complete yet).
    I want to disable this.
From what I remember the it was in the theme default settings (not a plugin) but not 100% sure.
From searching online lazyload keeps coming up.

Anyone know what setting it could be?

    Thanks,
    Pa

You have adaptive images switched on somewhere in your theme (what theme?), and the full res copies are not loading at all here for me - check console errors.

The original images are *massive* (http://patrickdinneen.ie/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Patrick-Dinneen-wedding-photography-15-1.jpg is over 4500x3000 and 3MB) so they should be reduced). Imsanity can do this during upload if you don't resize down yourself.

    What theme is it?

    Hi,

I found 'Adaptive Images' and it says-
Activate to take advantage of the Adaptive Images system. Adaptive Images detects your visitor's screen size and automatically delivers device appropriate re-scaled images.

I was sure there was another setting about blurring until images are needed/loaded fully

I'm using Uncode theme, extremely customizable, almost too many options & settings. But I'm getting there.

Ya, I have to reduce images. I have 'Imagify' plugin but noticed I have 0% space left on the free plan. Will check out Imsanity.
Is there any advantage to uploading the images in a smaller size myself?

    Thanks,
    Pa.

JavaScript errors are preventing the full size images loading for me. I would guess that's a caching/loading issue.

Yes - you can control the quality of the uploaded image. WordPress will still make multiple smaller copies.
