Was wondering if I was to sign to Sky Ireland TV for a year and get their engineer to connect my apartment to the satellite feed. could I then just use freesat and cancel Sky

Sky own the dish and you’d be tapping into that communal dish

    Sky own the dish

Do you know that for a fact?

I'd get as much information as possible before paying out for sky, especially as it appears you don't really want sky..

They installed it expecting 10 or more apartments to sign up. I think 2 did

Is your aparment already wired up (coax cable)?
Would a FTA receiver work now?

No wired for VirginMedia/UPC and sky installed dish 3 yrs ago so will involve drilling a hole into apartment

Had an issue like that in the past.
We had a sky communal dish and after a few phone calls i was getting nowhere so i got a guy off adverts who got me hooked up to the dish and supplied a box and now i have FtA tv,all the stations you need and radio, and no more bills.

Thanks for that. Hadn’t really looked at all at that option. Was the hole he drilled neat?

    Ye lovely job done.
I live in a fairly new building and there is a connection box on the side of the building which connects to the communal dish.

It was a straight forward job and no mess, regarding tv viewing id recommend it if ye can life without skysports.

As i said ye get hundreds of stations, perfect reception, and no bills.

These stations are there and people are paying sky, virgin, for them when they can get them free, its a no brainer really.
