Ford Kuga AWD vs FWD

I am looking at a number of Ford Kuga's 2014

Just so I am not wasting my time going to dealers, I need the car to be AWD.

How can I be sure the vehicle is AWD and not FWD on a 2014 model.
Reason I ask, I was told by a dealer on another car that it was 4x4 I went to look at the car and it turns out it was FWD and just a waste of a trip.

I have seen on some 2013 models on the dash it will have Intelligent AWD but not sure if that is the same on the 2014 model albeit the models are very similar.

Any advice on how to get confirmation before I go would be appricated.

Isn’t the tax slightly more on the AWD vs the 2wd - €280 vs €390? That would be a good way of knowing (if correct)

It’s no harm checking the tax rate in motortax.ie with the reg number as there are a good few crewcab 4wd models out there, these are €333 tax and aren’t for private use.

I bought a FWD 2015 Kuga recently. 4 wheel drive Kuga`s are very very thin on the ground for the simple reason they are too light for towing. There is`nt much of a market for them

Why are you afraid of asking the question ? When you get there a quick look under the car see if there is a diff there will answer it for you

Not afraid to ask the question, as I say I had one dealer tell me it was AWD until i got their, turns out he just assumed it was AWD. I have 3 I am currently looking at online but I cannot go to each location unless I want to do a 250 mile round trip.

All three claim AWD, i am pretty sure the 160BHP Titanium has to be AWD as I not think they do 160PS on the 2 wheel model.

I was just more wondering is there something say in the log book that would tell me.

    [/

Tricky, I can`t see anything on my tax book that says 2WD or AWD

Dealers will tell you black is white on the phone to get you there

    Best of luck anyway

I'm not sure if this will work for every Kuga, it probably depends on how the model was entered when it was registered. But for a small sample I tried, if you put the reg into cartell.ie, it says 2WD or AWD in the description. It'll also tell you if it's the 2 seat or 4 seat crewcab commercial.
