Howdy folks, The Mrs just got her first paycheck.
    Gross pay 252
    Paye 100.80
    USC 20.16

    Payment 131.04

It is a low paying job but that take home is ridiculous.
Is there any way of knowing if she's on emergency tax?
It doesn't state it on the wage slip.
    I am working myself.

She is on Emergency tax with no PPSN rates.

When is the money (including lost growth) Michael Noonan took in the Pension Levy going to be paid back?

We checked on her mygov account and her employer is listed there.
Also her PPS number is on her payslip.

MyGov has nothing to do with Revenue. Their systems are ROS and MyAccount. Easiest to just ring Revenue, she may not be registered with them. There are many possibilities. Starting with the most lightly: Has she worked in Ireland before?

Best to just ring Revenue or log on to myAccount. Next possibility is allowances assigned to another employer.

Definitely top rate emergency tax (40% PAYE and 8% USC)- a quick check of myAccount will allow her to ensure that the employment is registered so it should be sorted the next pay run.

You can also check your payslip and see what tax credits you have - then you will know if you have her credits. Even if you do have her credits there is a certain amount that she must keep for herself so definitely looks like she’s in emergency tax because no tax credits have been applied

This is the most likely scenario. That her tax credits and Standard Rate Cutoff Point is allocated to another employer.

Best thing to do is to log into myAccount and allocate her credits/SRCOP to the new job.

Revenue will then create a new RPN, which the new employer should download for the next pay cycle.

It would also pay to make contact with Revenue to make sure that she is put onto Cumulative Tax basis. When she goes onto cumulative she will be recover any over deductions made in the first paycheck.
