    1. There was a supply disruption in my area yesterday and I still have no water. What do I do?

    If your cold, kitchen tap is affected by a supply disruption and we have no notice for your area on our website, please confirm the following and we can follow up?

    Name;
    Address;
    Contact number;
    If you live in an apartment or a house; and
    If your neighbours are also affected.

    2. I applied for a connection and I’m looking for an update

    We recommend you email newconnections@water.ie with your application reference number, name and full address and a member of our team can help.

    3. Do I have hard water?
    As hard water has no associated health risks, we do not measure for levels of water hardness in specific areas.

    More information about water hardness can be found here

    If you would like to get your water tested to check if you have hard water, you can find a list of accredited testing facilities here.

    4. I have had no water in any of my bathroom taps and my shower in my apartment won’t work for the past 24 hours. What is causing this?

    If you live in an apartment, we recommend you contact your building management company to investigate the disruption as it may be due to the internal infrastructure. They can then contact us if their investigation states that the disruption is from the public side.

    5. I have brown water from my cold tap. Why?

    Sometimes after works take place in an area, supply can become discoloured. If you run your cold, kitchen tap in 10 – 15 minutes intervals, this can help to clear any discolouration.

    You can check out our video on clearing discoloured supply here and more information on discoloured water on our website.
