Plastering Doorframe / Doorway Edges

I have a doorway that is a non-standard width - designed for wheelchair access, so it can't take a standard doorframe. I don't want a door in it either.

I've decided to finish it off with plaster.
    What's my best option?

Would I need to cut lengths of plasterboard & fix to the edges, then use angled metal edges & then plaster?

    or

Simply fix angled metal edges & plaster.

I've tried to find someone to do the work but nobody seems interested. So i will have to tackle on my own.

Yes board around the opening. If your plastering it yourself bond on the corner beads, make sure they are square and plum. If your putting them over existing plaster on the walls you could knock off a small amount of plaster or use board jointing compound.
